Not all teenagers spend their lives on their cell phone or surfing the net. In Franck Guérin’s film, they kill their boredom by roaming the nearby woods and fields until the accidental death of one of them forces everyone in the community to reexamine their role and relationships to one another. Although Arte has produced the film for French TV, it holds well on the big screen and is touring the globe from one festival to another. Guérin, a long-time documentary director, signs his debut film with Un Jour d’Été (in which Bernard Blancan, who makes a five-minute appearance, was just awarded the award for best actor at Cannes for his role in Indigènes).

Beyond the Dogma: The Seattle International Film Festival gets Danish in 2006 (from May 25 - June 18)

If you are familiar to the fact that Seattleites see more movies per capita than any other city in the nation, it will not surprise you that one of our city’s biggest events, the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), is considered to be the largest and most highly attended festivals in the US and one of the best “audience festivals” in the world. Beginning May 25 through June 18, SIFF has again promised to bring the best in cinema from all points of the globe in an incredible line-up of more than 250 features and 100 shorts from more than 50 different countries.

Dans son deuxième long-métrage, Sébastien Rose poursuit son exploration de la thématique familiale. Comédie tragique ou tragédie comique, La Vie avec Mon Père réunit un père et ses deux fils et distille de façon douce amère l’évolution de leurs relations transformées par la mort annoncée du patriarche. Sébastien Rose était l’invité du 32ème  SIFF.
